Dare to Lead

by Brené Brown

It is no secret that I am Brené Brown’s biggest fan. After having read all her books, I was delighted that she published Dare to Lead in 2019. What did I do after reading her book? Yes, you guessed it. I enrolled to train with Brené herself to become a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator. Not only do I now present key-note talks and workshops on this work, but I integrate it into my own life, and those of my clients during Life Planning meetings on a daily basis.

Learning from Dare to Lead™

We are all leaders, whether you find yourself in a corporate or take a leadership role with your children. Brené teaches us that leaders don’t pretend to have the right answers and they don’t avoid having difficult conversations. True Leaders have the courage to lean into vulnerability and connect on an authentic level.

Brown writes, “One of the most important findings of my career is that daring leadership is a collection of four skill sets that are 100 percent teachable, observable and measurable. It’s learning and unlearning that requires brave work, tough conversations, and showing up with your whole heart. Easy? No. Because choosing courage over comfort is not always our default. Worth it? Always. We want to be brave with our lives and our work. It’s why we’re here.”
