The Secret Language of Money
During my research and quest to learn everything I could about our relationship with money, I kept coming across references to David Krueger. After reading The Secret Language of Money, I enrolled for David Krueger’s coaching course and qualified as a New Money Story® Mentor Coach in 2016.
When planning retirement, I have always asked clients about the first money memories that impacted their lives. I have been constantly reminded that money memories from childhood, can still impact one’s relationship with money decades later.
Dr Krueger’s programme, underpinned by neuroscience, is a powerful process that helps clients to understand and change their relationship with money. It revolves around beliefs, how that may differ from reality, and creates insight into “triggers” and thought processes that may impact one’s relationship with money.
Krueger’s work inspired me to develop my latest workshop “Your Money Journey” and it has also influenced the topics of my Courageous Currency Conversation blogs.
Learning from The Secret Language of Money
Everyone has their own unique money story that operates in emotional, unspoken and mostly unconscious ways in our lives. Money can make any statement and carry any message. Money represents what we idealise and desire, yet fear and lack, what we covet, crave, spurn, chase, or follow. We use money to show how much we care—or how little. We use it to measure success and buy happiness—or try to. We use it to bolster our self-esteem. We use money to communicate.
Money language mirrors the unspoken self. The Secret Language of Money helps us decode this secret language with a step-by-step manual to:
- Decipher the secret language encrypted in money.
- Move from fear of money to mastery.
- Identify the self-statements made with money behaviors.
- Recognize money behaviors ghostwritten by your mind’s hidden assumptions.
