Change is never easy. It takes a whole lot of courage to pause your tracks on the treadmill and reflect on better, more rewarding ways to enter the future. And through the turmoil and trying times that we’ve all faced this year, my utmost memory of 2022 will be the many clients who have made themselves vulnerable enough to face the future head-on.
Clients who were brave enough to take time out and take stock of their lives to visualise what a purposeful and fulfilling life would look like. Clients who tuned in and started the journey of becoming a friend with money instead of being a servant. And then finally made a new plan to make their reinventions a reality.
Little did I know when I wrote my latest book, Midlife Money Makeover, during the first lockdown of the Covid pandemic that this would become the most valuable tool that I would use post-pandemic. I am so grateful to be able to guide people with practical tools and reflections as they consciously create their next chapter.
A money makeover can happen at any age – you just need the courage and the tools to nudge your life on the course you want it to go. Don’t leave it all to chance or carry on doing what does not fulfil you. You don’t want to end up living a life of someone else’s choosing. You do not want to look back in years to come thinking ‘if only.’
My wish for you as we end 2022, is to be intentional with your life and your money. That means deciding for yourself what you want your life to look like as you head into 2023. Clarify what you want to achieve and make a plan for how your money will enable the life you want.
